Our story

We make leather goods the slow way.

Every piece begins as a single hide of vegetable-tanned leather — full grain, 1.2 to 2 mm thick, tanned with tree bark rather than chrome. It is cut by hand, stitched with waxed thread, and burnished at the edges until the fibres lie flat. There is no lining to hide behind and no plastic edge paint. What you see is the leather itself.

Why vegetable-tanned

Chrome-tanned leather looks the same on day one and day one thousand. Vegetable-tanned leather does not. Sunlight, the oils from your hands, the friction of a pocket — all of it darkens the surface and deepens the grain. After a year, a wallet that started honey-coloured is closer to tobacco. That is not wear. That is the point.

Small batches, real hands

We work in small batches. A single wallet takes around two hours of handwork, and we would rather make forty a month properly than four hundred quickly. Every edge is sanded, dampened and burnished by hand — three passes, no shortcuts.

Built to be repaired

Stitching wears out before leather does. If a seam fails, send it back and we will re-stitch it. A good wallet should outlive the trend that sold it.
